Privacy Policy — WaterLog

Last Updated: February 8, 2026

The Short Version

Your data stays on your device. We don’t collect, store, or share any of your information. Period.

What We Don’t Collect

WaterLog does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. This includes:

  • Your name, email, or contact information

  • Photos, voice notes, or evidence data

  • Location or GPS data

  • Usage analytics or tracking data

  • Device identifiers

  • Crash reports

Where Your Data Lives

All incident data, photos, voice recordings, and notes are stored locally on your iPhone. Your evidence never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it via the share sheet.

When you export a PDF report or ZIP evidence bundle, you control where it goes — iCloud Drive, email, AirDrop, or any other app on your device. We never receive copies of anything you share.

Camera, Microphone, and Location

WaterLog requests access to your camera, microphone, and location. Here’s exactly how each is used:

  • Camera — Takes photos of water damage during the guided capture flow. Photos are saved locally on your device.

  • Microphone — Records voice notes when you can’t type. Audio files are saved locally on your device.

  • Location — Tags photos with GPS coordinates to provide timestamped, geolocated evidence for your insurance claim. Coordinates are stored locally with your photos.

None of this data is transmitted anywhere. All three permissions are optional — the app still functions if you decline any of them.

Third-Party Services

WaterLog does not use any third-party services, analytics, advertising, or external APIs. The app works entirely offline after installation.

Children’s Privacy

We don’t collect data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our data practices, we’ll update this policy and the “Last Updated” date. Significant changes will be noted in app update descriptions.
